An original bronze death mask of Napoleon . Cast in 1833 in Paris from the original plaster death mask made by Dr F. Antommarchi on the day of Napoleon's death

This mask is in two parts:  bronze face and bronze stand, contained in its original wooden case. Total weight: c. 8 kilos

This bronze mask belonged to Dr. Antommarchi himself, and has always remained in the family. The seller is based in France and is a great-grand-nephew of Dr. Antommarchi.

Noted Napoleonic collector Ben Weider was negotiating to purchase this item when he passed away in 2008.
